Business Development Internship (Summer 2020)
Overview
Are you a student interested in an opportunity to gain first-hand experience developing a new business by utilizing the knowledge you are learning in school? If so, Melanie Bates Consulting, LLC has just what you are looking for! By participating in MBC’s unpaid internship program, you will have the opportunity to apply your skills, obtain practical experience in criminal justice reform as well as take advantage of valuable professional development and networking opportunities. This is primarily a remote position.
Intern Responsibilities
Identify and monitor funding opportunities
Identify and pursue new business prospects
Engage with potential clients and move discussions to closure
Draft proposals and consulting agreements
Evaluate existing consulting engagements to drive additional value
Maintain awareness of developments in criminal justice reform
Generate ideas for social media campaigns
Perform other tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Detail-oriented with strong writing and editing skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Experience with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter
Access to a computer, internet, and telephone
Must be able to work 5-10 hours per week
